My layout depicts the Great East Side Electric Railway System as it would have appeared in 1955, complete with streetcar and interurban operations as well as freight.  The layout features the portion of the system from Winstanly (East St. Louis) and National City to the Belleville public square and Horseshoe Lake, with staging adding Collinsville, Lebanon, and Mitchell, Illinois.  In this version the East St. Louis & Suburban acquired both the East St. Louis Junction in National City and the Southern branch in Belleville in an attempt to bolster revenue.
