The West Shore Sub of the New York Central is a proto-freelanced, "what-if" layout based on concept of the Penn Central merger being dissolved and the lines that made up the PC being restored back to the New York Central and Pennsylvania RR's. The era is modern with 4-axle road switchers handeling locals and 6-axle wide cabs handeling mainline traffic. The New York Central interchanges with its shortline partner Livonia, Avon & Lakeville RR. at Genesee Junction. The LAL operates on the former Rochester branchlines of the Erie-Lackawanna and the Lehigh Valley.
