The Galena & Southwestern Wisconsin was a narrow gauge railroad bought out by the Chicago & NorthWestern.  My history continues the railroad as an independent standard gauge bridge between the IC, MILW, CB&Q and C&NW passing through the hilly mining, timber and agricultural country of Northwestern Illinois and Southwestern Wisconsin. Galena, IL is the southern terminus and Platteville WI is the northern.
