The Denver Pueblo & Southern is an HO scale, freelanced prototype double deck layout.  Construction began in March 2005.  I chose the name of the layout, Denver Pueblo & Southern to identify the location of my railroad.  The prototype is not a rail-road, but a unique section of double track, single direction main located between Den-ver and Pueblo, Colorado, known locally as the "Joint Line". In my world, the Denver Pueblo & Southern  was created by the United States Railroad Administration in 1930 to oversee operations over the  "Joint Line".  Six Class I railroads were using the Joint Line in the 1950's: Colorado & Southern/Fort Worth & Denver; Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe; D&RGW; Chicago Rock Island & Pacific; Chicago Burlington & Quincy;  and the Missouri Pacific. In 1953, the year I am modelling, there were twelve daily scheduled passenger trains, and four to six  daily freight trains(through and locals).  Operation on the DP&S is TT/TO,  controlled by a Digitrax Super Chief DCC system.
