When I returned to Florida from four years in the US Army, the year was 1973.

I joint the local railroad club [Lauderdale Shore Lines] and attended one of their annual hobby auctions where I purchased an Athearn PA-1 painted green and yellow and lettered for "SEACOAST".  This was the beginning.

There has been two in the history of the Central Dixie.  The first was in Pompano Beach Florida.  This was broken down when the home office was moved to Sebring Florida in 2001. At this location a two level was constructed.  After 8 years this layout was taken down and the Central Dixie has no track at this time.

Plans are being reviewed for a new layout and construction is scheduled to begin in 2014.
