The GP&GC is a modern, Class 2 RR serving the south central midwest through the central gulf coast.  Primary traffic is unit intermodal, coal, and grain, as well as local manifest. It serves a large intermodal port facility in MS as well as a large intermodal yard in OK.  It also serves a number of coal fired power plants and farm community grain elevators.  Additionally, almost every kind of industry in towns along the route.
