The Layout is designed as a shelf layout. The layout is currently in the construction stage, with all the boards having track and wiring. No scenery has been installed as yet. This version of the layout has been redesigned from the original concept that I had. The layout is based loosely on my home town of Barrow-In-Furness, on the South Western corner of the English Lake District but with some freelanced elements incorporated into it, espescially the sidings to Vickers Shipbuilding and Roosecote Power Station. These were lifted in the late 1970's and early 80's and Fainty's Scrapyard never had a rail link and Morrison's Supermarket is actually built where the railyard used to be. I have included these to show what the area might have looked like in the present day. |
