The Cedar Rapids Industrial Branch (2.0) represents a portion of Cedar Rapids, Iowa where the Chicago and North Western and Chicago Central and Pacific railroads meet utilizing yards formerly owned by the Rock Island, Illinois Central/Illinois Central Gulf, and Milwaukee Road and serving local industries. The layout is dominated by a Quaker Oats plant ("The World's Largest Cereal Mill" served directly by the CNW. The CRANDIC and Iowa Northern are also in the mix as they deliver to the CNW and CCP daily, and numerous switch and transfer jobs run out of the CNW North Yard and CCP's A and B yards. |
