This is a 8' x 5', N scale switching layout roughly based on the Union Pacific Fairfax yard in Kansas City, Kansas. My goal when I built the layout was to best utilize the space in a spare apartment bedroom while keeping the layout and models realistic in portion. While the area and feel of the railroad is similar to the real Fairfax Yard, The industries along the railroad are a mix of local KC locations. I wanted to model as much as I could while keeping the spacing and size of buildings feeling natural. The railroad was started around 5 years ago and is rapidly approching completion. 

The layout is powered by an ESU DCC system and Iowa Scaled Engineering Protothorttles.
