MY ILLINOIS CENTRAL

This is a branch line of the railroad, the FAIRFIELD DIVISION, connects at CENTRALIA, ILLINOIS and travels in a southerly direction through southern Illinois.  It serves ports along the Mississippi River at_________________, ________________ and ___________.

The major City on the line is Fairfield, Illinois, approximately 90 miles southwest of Centralia.  All inbound and outbound traffic travels through Centralia, except for interchange with CSX and NS at Fairfield.  The headquarters for the Fairfield Division is at Fairfield, IL

Due to the flooding in the mid 80s in middle Illinois, the Centralia Division was replaced with the Euclid Division and all mainline traffic on the mailine was diverted from the Centralia Division to the Euclid Division at Edgewood, IL (MP No275).   The Centralia Division is now a branchline serving industries along the division.  The Division Headquarters and yard are located at Euclid, IL. Euclid, IL is located at MP No. 300.   Other cities on the line south of Euclid are (1)  Wildwood, IL (MP No. 330.5) with a branchline to Centralia, IL and St. Louis, MO, known as Wildwood Jct. (MP 330 interchange with  CSX and CNW) and (2)  Fairfield, IL, (MP No. 350) with an interchange with NS and KCS at Fairfield Jct. (MP No. 350.5).  Because the Centralia Sub. is now a branch line, all AMTRAK traffic travels on the Euclid Division.  There is also a branch line to the American Coal Company Mine located in Sparta, IL.  A major industrial park is located in Wildwood, IL.

Presently, only the Fairfield, IL area has been constructed with all track layed, buildings constructed and located and about 90% of the scenery has been completed.  The entire segment is to be completed by the Summer of 2012.

Construction of the Wildwood area will begin in the Summer of 2011.
