The town of Mountain View Colorado was established by the Denver Southwestern Railway in co-operation with the Santa Fe Railway as a fully functioning museum to showcase railway equipment from any private party or railraod wishing to display its equipment. Buildings are modeled around turn of the century buildings, mostly of brick.

No automobile traffic is allowed in the town. There are numerous displays of various types of vehicular transportation from horse & buggy to Nascar stock cars.
