Through the 1970's, the Paducah shops of the Illinois Central rebuilt worn out EMD GP7 & GP9 locomotives into the GP10. The InterMountain Railway Company HO Scale GP10 Locomotive is manufactured with finely molded parts that have been designed to reproduce railroad specific details, such as:
- HORST air filter
- Horizontal nose headlight
- Extended right-front tool box
- Engine access hatches on the roof
- Non-sound models are equipped with an ESU® LokPilot® decoder
- Sound models are equipped with an ESU® LokSound® Select Sound decoder with ESU's new Full Throttle features
