Based On The Prototype Over The Wabash River At Lafayette, Indiana.
The truss-type bridge is among the most common railroad styles with early designs dating back to the 1820s, when wood was the standard construction material. As trains became heavier, cast-iron and wood were used and the development of the Bessemer process made steel bridges possible. This kit is typical of steel bridges throughout North America with trusses, chords and bridge shoes, plus safety sign and graffiti decals, are included.
