Early in the 20th century, homes like this were often built along expanding streetcar lines serving new suburbs, and could also be found down on the farm.

As automobiles became more common after World War I, the prosperous homeowner would build a small garage near the house to store his car.

Many survive today, making this kit a great starting point for a mini-scene on any steam- or diesel-era layout.

This handsome structure features a wrap-around porch with detailed railing and spindles, while the separate one-car garage with opening doors can be added anywhere space allows.
